Daisy will be cut from 3mm Cold rolled raw steel and have a silver appearance when delivered but are made intending to allow them to rust, and they will do so easily, but you can prevent this from happening by applying a clear or coloured metal paint. We do recommend a coating even if keeping Daisy indoors as some discolouration can occur inside. After cutting we clean the items with a product similar to WD40 which protects them from rust during transit. Once Daisy is exposed to the atmosphere, or moisture, she will start to patina in a short period of time. You can expedite this If you wish by wetting Daisy with some salty water. For the item to naturally rust, She will start to change within a few weeks and will last for many, many years. If you wish to protect Daisy you can do this by applying any metal paint or spray from places like Screwfix, B&Q or Amazon. Daisy will need a light sanding to help the paint adhere. Follow the surface preparation instructions from your chosen paint supplier We have personally used Screwfix own brand paints and Plasti Kote from Amazon. Both worked well for us, and we would recommend periodically applying a top up each year or as and when needed. We deliberately make them using mild steel as we have found over the years that half of our customers have wished for them to naturally rust and others wish to paint them different colours.
Please be aware that the products may have some sharp edges due to the design and cutting process. As the material is an engineering product some scratches and marks may be present on the front surface or in the material which is impossible to avoid this from happening, but care is taken to limit these during cutting and handling. They are always easily covered when a coating is applied, or when the item has rusted.

All orders are tracked using either Royal Mail or Parcel Force, depending on the size, but an email is sent once posted with your personal tracking number so that you know when to expect it.

Sorry, but we can only post to UK mainland addresses currently.
